Christmas Party 2009

The cadets tried something different for their Christmas party this year - An overnight camp at Bradley Wood.

Saturday started with a bit of a navigation challenge around the wood followed by a range of activities during the evening - most of them extremely noisy !!!!

On Sunday we finished the weekend with a session on the indoor climbing wall with some very agile participants. Great weekend looking forward to next year already.

Bradley Wood Camp 5th/6th September

Cadets enjoyed a tiring but exciting weekend at Bradley Wood Scout Camp. Despite some individuals misgivings the archery session went extremely well with the boys overcoming a late dash for victory by the girls to win in style.

The main purpose of the camp was to provide cadets with an opportunity to apply the practical training they have undertaken in preparation for their DofE and National Navigation Award. This involved setting up the camp, meal preparation and use of their navigation skills around the orienteering course.

mmmmmmm, I'm sure that tree wasn't there when we came past earlier.

Orienteering

Despite picking what was probably the hottest day of this year so far a group of cadets took part in an orienteering exercise at Ogden Water. A team of boys took on the girls to see who could visit the most controls within the allocated time. THE GIRLS WON!! well done.

As well as being a very enjoyable day out the cadets taking part are now well on their way to their NNAS Bronze award.
