About the Air Training Corps
The Air Training Corps is a voluntary youth organization supported by the Royal Air Force. It is open to anyone aged 13 to 17. The ATC is one of the country's premier youth organizations and the world's largest youth air training organization. The Cadets are supported by a volunteer Staff and Civilian Committee Members.
2447(Calder Valley) Squadron is located between Hebden Bridge and Todmorden and recruits cadets from both the Yorkshire and Lancashire side of the border.
Our parade nights are Mondays and Thursdays between 6.45pm and 9.15pm and anyone interested in becoming a member is more than welcome to attend on one of the above evenings.
You will see within the site many of the activities that Cadets can become involved in including:
- Flying & Gliding
- Shooting
- Adventure Training
- Sports
- Annual Camps
- DofE
- BTEC
and many more besides.
The Aims of the Air Cadet Organization are:
To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
